A court has cleared a man, his parents, and two sisters of charges in a 2013 dowry death case, finding the core elements of the alleged crime were absent as the woman died after divorce.
Additional Sessions Judge Sachin Sangwan ruled in favor of Dinesh Kumar Bidhuri and his family, who were accused of causing the death of Bidhuri's wife, Neetu, through dowry demands and neglect.
The court noted inconsistencies in testimonies and that Neetu's death occurred months after her divorce, concluded that the essential criteria for dowry death were missing.
