INS Tushil, the forefront of India's maritime advancements with Russia, is on track for a December commissioning, according to defense sources.

In 2016, India and Russia inked a deal to construct four stealth frigates. Two were set to be built in Russia, with the remaining by Goa Shipyard Limited in India. INS Tushil is the first Russian-built vessel, with INS Tamal expected next.

Delays in construction have been reported due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ukraine conflict, and resulting sanctions, impacting the timeline significantly.
