Riot Fallout: BJP Leader's Complaint Spurs New FIR

In the aftermath of a deadly communal clash in Mahrajganj, authorities have registered yet another FIR, marking the twelfth such report. This recent filing names seven individuals, including an office bearer from BJP's city unit, and was initiated by Mahsi BJP MLA Sureshwar Singh.
The violent incident occurred when 22-year-old Ram Gopal Mishra was fatally shot on October 13 during disagreements over loud music played at a Durga idol immersion procession. This sparked widespread violence, including arson and vandalism throughout the area.
The complaint filed on October 18 led to charges against individuals, such as Arpit Srivastava and Pundrik Pandey, under various sections relating to rioting and attempted murder, among others. Police reports indicate tensions remain high, with 104 arrests made so far.
