A chilling murder case has emerged in Maharashtra's Thane district, where a couple has been arrested for allegedly killing a 24-year-old man and placing his body in a plastic bag, police reported on Friday.

On Wednesday, district rural police apprehended Mohammad Siraj Ansari and his wife Razia in connection with the murder that took place on October 4. Senior Inspector Govind Patil of the Kulgaon police station stated that the deceased, identified as Mohammed Aalam Ansari, was discovered on an empty plot in Dharol village.

The police dossier indicates that the suspects, hailing from Jharkhand, were zeroed in on following a tip-off. During questioning, it was uncovered that the victim was a stepbrother to the accused husband, who claimed that the victim had persistently pursued his wife. The couple allegedly killed him with a wooden log and disposed of his body using a scooter.
