In a distressing incident from Tajpur Tedia village in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district, two poultry farm owners have been accused of brutally torturing three boys from the Dalit community. The alleged crime involved shaving the boys' heads, blackening their faces, and parading them through the village on suspicions of their involvement in the theft of 5 kg of wheat.

While the boys were reportedly targeted by farm owners Nazim Khan and Qasim Khan, police have registered a case against a total of four individuals, including Inayat and a former village head known as Sanu. The crime has spurred outrage, with accusations that casteist slurs were also hurled at the young victims, who belong to the Dalit and OBC communities.

Given the gravity of the violations—heightened by the use of electric cables as alleged instruments of intimidation—law enforcement has bolstered its presence in the area to maintain order. Meanwhile, Sanu remains at large. Human rights activists have called for stringent action under the SC/ST Atrocities Prevention Act and other legal frameworks to deliver justice to the aggrieved families.
