Subhash Velingkar, former chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Goa, has approached the Bombay High Court seeking anticipatory bail. This follows a decision by a lower court denying him such relief.

Velingkar is embroiled in controversy over comments deemed 'hurtful to religious sentiments' regarding St Francis Xavier, igniting widespread protests across Goa. Efforts to locate him are ongoing after a First Information Report (FIR) was filed by the police at Bicholim police station.

Meanwhile, intervention petitions have been submitted to the high court by Aam Aadmi Party MLA Cruz Silva, represented by advocate Amit Palekar, and Congress leader Warren Alemao, seeking involvement in the legal proceedings.
