Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced the advance credit of the Mazi Ladki Bahin scheme instalments for October and November. This decision follows the upcoming imposition of the model code of conduct for assembly elections, coinciding with the Diwali festival.

Fadnavis, addressing the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi, advised women beneficiaries to be cautious of detractors aiming to disrupt welfare initiatives. He emphasized the commitment of the ruling Mahayuti alliance to continue supporting the 94,000 women who have benefited in the Akkalkot constituency alone.

The Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana, with a budget of Rs 46,000 crore, seeks to provide financial assistance of Rs 1,500 monthly to women. Controversially, opposition leaders have challenged the scheme in court as an unnecessary expense, making it a focal point for the upcoming Maharashtra elections.
