Man Charred to Death in Indore Chemical Unit Blaze
A 55-year-old man, Abdul Qadir, was charred to death in a fire at an allegedly illegal chemical unit in Indore. Three persons, including two women, were rescued. A 55-year-old man was charred to death in a fire that broke out at a chemical unit allegedly operated illegally from a three-storey house in Indore city on Wednesday evening, police reported.
Three individuals were rescued from the site. The deceased, Abdul Qadir, died in the blaze originating from the chemical unit on the ground floor of the house in the Juni Indore police station area, according to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Anand Yadav.
Qadir had rented the ground floor for over a year to operate the unit dealing with chemicals like acid and thinner, noted Yadav.
'Three persons, including two women, who were trapped on the upper floors of the building were rescued by police,' Yadav added, confirming ongoing investigations.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Devender Singh Dhurve stated that two vehicles and goods on the upper floors were destroyed. Local MLA Malini Laxman Singh Gaur visited the spot for an assessment.
Residents expressed anger, alleging the illegal operation of the chemical unit within a residential area.
