Interim Bail Extension for MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid

Delhi court extended the interim bail of Baramulla Lok Sabha MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid, known as Engineer Rashid, till October 12. Rashid must surrender the following day. His counsel sought the extension after Rashid, facing terror funding charges, was released on bail on September 11 to campaign in the Jammu and Kashmir elections.

A Delhi court on Tuesday extended the interim bail of Baramulla Lok Sabha MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid, popularly known as Engineer Rashid, until October 12, according to his lawyer Vikhyat Oberoi.

The 57-year-old Rashid, who faces terror funding charges, will be required to surrender the following day.

Rashid's counsel had filed an application seeking an extension of the bail that was originally granted on September 10, allowing him to leave Tihar Jail on September 11 to participate in campaigning for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.
