High-Profile Bribery Bust in Bhopal: Cooperative Department Official Caught Red-Handed

The Special Establishment Police of Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta on Monday apprehended a senior official from the Cooperative Department for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh, according to an official statement.
The accused, Vinod Kumar Singh, who serves as the joint commissioner and joint registrar of the Cooperative Department, was reported to have demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh to address a complaint concerning irregularities in Vishal Sagar Housing Construction Society in Bhopal.
Singh was caught in the act at MANIT Square in Bhopal, the official added, noting that appropriate legal actions are being undertaken.
