The Andhra Pradesh government has swiftly disbursed Rs 602 crore to almost four lakh individuals impacted by the recent deluge, using advanced technology-driven measures, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced on Wednesday.

Naidu described this deluge as unprecedented, with damages reaching up to Rs 7,600 crore, encompassing both public and private assets.

'Rs 602 crore has been directly deposited into accounts as flood relief for nearly four lakh people. The damages amount to Rs 7,600 crore,' Naidu stated at a press conference held at the NTR district collectorate.

The Chief Minister's Relief Fund saw an unprecedented influx of Rs 400 crore in contributions, indicating robust public support.

'The response has been exceedingly enthusiastic. The donations totalling Rs 400 crore to the CM Relief Fund are the highest ever received,' Naidu said, addressing officials earlier.

According to Naidu, the significant donations were driven by the trust and confidence instilled by the state government among the people.

Naidu further highlighted that donors from abroad mobilized their relatives in Andhra Pradesh to contribute, with some even arriving in wheelchairs to hand over their donations personally.
