Anna Shinde has approached the Bombay High Court, demanding an investigation by a special team into what he alleges was a 'fake encounter' killing of his son, Akshay Shinde.
Alleging that his son was murdered in cold blood while in police custody, Shinde's petition, filed through advocate Amit Katarnaware, calls for the court to monitor the probe. The petition is set to be heard by a division bench on Wednesday.
Accused of sexually assaulting two minors in Thane, Akshay Shinde was killed in what police described as retaliatory firing during an altercation on his way to court. The Maharashtra CID will probe the incident.
