The attack, which began on Aug. 6, represents the largest foreign assault on Russian territory since World War Two. Ukrainian forces penetrated the border with substantial support from drones and heavy weaponry, including Western-made arms.
As a consequence of the escalating violence, 131,000 civilians have been evacuated from the most perilous areas of the Kursk region.
