Suspected militants detonated an explosive device targeting a convoy of foreign diplomats in Pakistan's volatile northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, killing a policeman and injuring three others. The diplomats, representing 11 countries, escaped unharmed, the Pakistan Foreign Ministry confirmed.
The blast occurred in the Jehanabad area of Swat district as the convoy was en route to Malam Jabba, a mountainous destination. Hospital authorities stated that the injured policemen are in critical condition.
The diplomatic delegation, invited by the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Swat Chamber of Commerce, was safely escorted back to Islamabad under tight security following the incident.
