Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced on Saturday that the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' has achieved success, driven by massive public participation.

Stressing on the need to live in harmony with natural surroundings, Sonowal, who serves as the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, made these remarks during his speech at the 'Sewa Pakhwada' campaign in Dibrugarh.

The minister actively participated in a cleanliness drive under 'Swachhata Mein Jan Bhagidari' at the Civil Hospital, aiming to motivate sanitation workers, government employees, and the general public to maintain regular cleanliness. He also inaugurated the 'Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir' at the Chowkidingee field to support sanitation workers from Dibrugarh and surrounding areas.

Sonowal praised the role of sanitation workers in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, underscoring that genuine public engagement transforms public programmes into people's movements.
