Samajwadi Party MLA and Wife Face Charges in Teenage Domestic Help’s Death
The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit registered a case against Samajwadi Party MLA Zahid Beg and his wife Seema Beg following the discovery of a teenage domestic help's body at their Uttar Pradesh home. The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit has registered a case against Samajwadi Party MLA Zahid Beg and his wife Seema Beg. This action came days after the body of a teenage domestic help was discovered at their residence in Uttar Pradesh.
The minor girl was found hanging in the MLA's Bhadohi home on Monday, sparking an investigation. Superintendent of Police Meenakshi Katyayan reported that the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit started its probe and rescued a 17-year-old girl working at the MLA's home.
Authorities have filed charges against Zahid Beg and Seema Beg under Section 108 of the Bonded Labour System (Prohibition) Act. The labour department has also taken steps against the couple, with further investigations led by crime inspector Shatanshu Shekhar Pankaj, according to Katyayan.
