In addition to reconstructing homes, the government is also weighing the possibility of providing compensation for vehicles and household appliances damaged in the deluge.
Torrential downpours and flooding from the Budameru rivulet caused significant damage, particularly in Vijayawada. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu conducted a review of the situation and stated that financial aid will be distributed as soon as the flood damage assessment is completed.
Preliminary estimates indicate that over 2.13 lakh houses were flooded, with completed damage assessments for 84,505 of them. Thousands of cars, two-wheelers, and autorickshaws were also damaged, along with crops spread over 2.14 lakh hectares.
