Two Army officers and their woman friend were victims of a brutal assault near Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, after six men were drawn to their picnic spot by loud music, police said on Friday. The incident occurred at the popular tourist location, Jam Gate, on the intervening night of September 10 and 11.

Authorities have apprehended three out of the six alleged attackers, with efforts underway to locate the others. The suspects allegedly threatened the victims with a pistol and sticks, demanding money and committing rape. Police reached the scene promptly, but the perpetrators managed to flee.

The victims, including one woman who confirmed rape, were taken to a local hospital for medical examination. A case has been filed under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. Efforts to obtain the woman’s statement continue, though she remains in shock.
