Unidentified assailants allegedly opened fire outside the residence of Maharashtra Minister Tanaji Sawant's nephew in the Dharashiv district early Friday morning, police said.
The incident happened at around 12.40 am in Sonari village, located approximately 225 km from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Two unidentified motorcycle-borne men reportedly fired shots in the air outside Dhananjay Sawant's house, confirmed an official from the Ambi police station. Authorities have recovered three bullet shells from the site and have registered a case under the relevant sections of the Arms Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
