Rohan Masih, the main suspect involved in the recent explosion in Chandigarh's upscale Sector 10, has been detained by the Punjab Police, according to a statement made by Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav on Friday.
The blast, which took place on Wednesday, had prompted the house owner to claim that two individuals had thrown a 'grenade' from an auto-rickshaw. The arrest of Masih, a resident of Passia village in Amritsar, is the result of a joint operation with a Central Agency.
Authorities recovered a 9MM Glock pistol and ammunition from Masih's possession. Further investigations are underway, involving coordination with Chandigarh Police, to understand the full scope of the conspiracy. Preliminary disclosures indicate that Masih has confessed to his role in the grenade blast.
