The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday launched search operations at the residences and offices of individuals associated with former RG Kar hospital principal, Sandip Ghosh. The action is part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial misconduct at the state-run medical facility.
Searches were carried out at the flat of Chandan Louhya in Kolkata's Tala area and another office in Kalindi. An official stated that another ED team was conducting a raid at Ghosh's ancestral home in Chinar Park, North 24 Parganas district.
Investigators are questioning Louhya and his wife, who allegedly benefited from Ghosh's tender approvals. A parallel team is looking into documents at an associated organization that supplied equipment to the hospital. Dubious transactions between the hospital and this organization are under scrutiny. The ED's investigation runs concurrently with a CBI probe. Ghosh, along with three accomplices, had been previously detained by the CBI.
