The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala has rallied behind Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's decision to take no immediate action against ADGP (Law and Order) M R Ajithkumar, pending the results of a comprehensive probe. This decision comes amidst a slew of serious allegations levelled against Ajithkumar, including unauthorized phone tapping and connections to RSS leaders.
MLA P V Anvar has intensified his criticism, claiming that Ajithkumar tapped phones of ministers, political leaders, and journalists, and had close ties with gold smuggling rackets. Furthermore, the opposition Congress has called for immediate action against the senior police official.
Adding to the controversy, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has requested a report from the Chief Minister on the allegations, viewing the alleged phone tapping as a violation of the law and Supreme Court guidelines. Despite severe criticism, the LDF maintains that no action will be taken until the investigation is complete.
