Manipur Police have firmly rebutted assertions dismissing the presence of drones and advanced missiles in recent aggression, amid the continuing ethnic discord between the Meiteis and Kukis. Tails of sophisticated rockets have been recovered, proving the advanced nature of the assaults, according to a top police officer on Tuesday.

Dismissing claims by retired Lt Gen P C Nair that no drones or rockets were involved, IGP (Administration) K Jayanta Singh criticized the statement as 'immature' and not reflective of the Assam Rifles' official stance. Singh pointed out that drones and missile remnants have been documented as part of the evidence.

The ethnic tensions have resulted in over 200 fatalities and thousands displaced since May last year, with the recent surge in violence aggravating the situation. Police officials underscored the diverse makeup of the police force, countering derogatory labels and affirming the need for community cooperation to pacify student protests and mitigate violence.
