Maharashtra Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar has sharply criticized Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for his recent visit to Andhra Pradesh's flood-affected regions, noting it was due to the alliance between the central government and the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Torrential rains, coupled with the inflow from the swollen Budameru rivulet, caused massive flooding across parts of Andhra Pradesh, but similar devastation in Maharashtra has gone unheeded. Chouhan's reassurance in Andhra Pradesh contrasts sharply with the absence of federal attention to Maharashtra, Wadettiwar pointed out. Despite vast crop and livestock loss, Maharashtra has yet to see a central delegation.

Wadettiwar accused state agriculture minister Dhananjay Munde of misplaced priorities, criticizing him for hosting a local event while the state faced severe agricultural damage. He called on Munde to demand urgent federal assistance akin to the Rs 3,448 crore aid announced for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
