Supreme Court Demands Fresh CBI Report in Rape and Murder Case at Kolkata's RG Kar Hospital
The Supreme Court ordered the CBI to submit a new report by September 17 on the investigation into the rape and murder of a postgraduate medic at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College. The court also instructed the West Bengal government and CISF officers to ensure the security and accommodation needs at the hospital.

The Supreme Court has directed the CBI to submit a fresh report by September 17 on the probe into the rape and murder of a postgraduate medic at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
A bench led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud reviewed a report filed by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the CBI. The bench noted the ongoing investigation and instructed the CBI to file a new status report.
Mehta revealed that forensic samples will be sent to AIIMS for further analysis. The court ordered senior officers from West Bengal's Home department and CISF to ensure the security and accommodation needs of CISF officers at the hospital. The state reported 23 deaths due to a doctors' strike protesting the case.
