In Maharashtra's Thane district, authorities have apprehended a 25-year-old man, identified as Sagar Wagh, on serious allegations of sexual harassment of a teenage girl and physical assault on her parents, according to an official statement made on Friday.

Sources reveal that Wagh had been persistently stalking the 14-year-old girl since July, ignoring repeated requests from her parents to cease his unwelcome advances. The situation escalated on Thursday when Wagh reportedly entered the girl’s residence in Bhiwandi while she was alone and touched her inappropriately.

Subsequently, when the girl’s parents confronted Wagh at his home to address the misconduct, he reacted violently and physically pushed them. The police have since filed charges against Wagh under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act based on a complaint lodged by the mother's teen, as explained by senior inspector Bharat Kamath of the Narpoli police station.
