HRTC Employees Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault on Student
Two employees from Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) have been detained for allegedly sexually assaulting a 21-year-old student on a bus. The incident took place on Wednesday evening. Per police reports, the accused include a driver and a mechanic, and legal proceedings are in progress.

Two employees of Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) have been detained for allegedly sexually assaulting a 21-year-old student on a bus, according to police reports on Thursday.
The incident occurred Wednesday evening when the victim boarded an HRTC bus from her educational institute to the Sunni area. Police stated one perpetrator is a driver and the other a mechanic, both HRTC employees. The student's complaint alleges that the assault began when one of the men asked for her phone number and social media handles.
When she resisted, the other accused sat beside her and attempted further assault. SHO Police Station Sunni, B R Sharma, said that a case has been registered under sections 75(2) (sexual harassment), 78(2) (stalking), and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and that the investigation is ongoing.
