The Eastern Railway announced on Wednesday its plans to consider legal action against Trinamool Congress MLA Kanai Chandra Mondal over an incident involving alleged misbehavior with a travelling ticket examiner (TTE) during a train ride.
According to Mondal, the TTE was the one who misbehaved, prompting him to lodge a complaint with the railway authorities. However, Eastern Railway spokesperson Kausik Mitra reported that the altercation began when Mondal's companion was found without a proper ticket.
ER stated that the incident occurred on Monday on the Malda-Howrah Intercity Express and is consulting with its lawyers and senior officers to determine further legal steps. Mondal, on the other hand, maintains that the woman passenger from his constituency sought to convert her ticket class and was refused, leading him to lodge a complaint with the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Howrah.
