Himachal Pradesh minister Vikramaditya Singh has stated that legal action will be taken if the under-construction Sanjauli Masjid in Shimla is found to be illegal. The matter is set for a court decision on September 7 by the Municipal Commissioner.
Singh emphasized that the issue of immigrants is a significant concern for the people of Himachal Pradesh. He noted that the mosque's fate has long been a contentious matter gaining momentum, and if structural illegality is found, action will be taken.
Addressing the situation, Singh noted that communities from outside states like Uttar Pradesh have settled in Himachal, leading to some law and order issues. The state government has allocated substantial funds for temple maintenance, but aims to balance the interests of all communities. In agreement, HP Rural Development Minister Anirudh Singh also underscored the importance of not tolerating illegal constructions.
