Interpol issued 100 Red Notices on India's request in 2023, marking the highest number in a single year, according to CBI Director Praveen Sood. This announcement came during the 10th Interpol Liaison Officers (ILO's) Conference, organized by the CBI, where Sood also noted that 29 fugitives were brought back to India in 2023, and 19 so far in 2024.

The Global Operation Centre of the CBI managed 17,368 international assistance requests last year, a testament to its robust operation. Home Secretary Govind Mohan praised the center for its diligent handling of 200-300 daily requests, both incoming and outgoing.

Sood highlighted the critical role of international cooperation in combating crimes like terrorism, cybercrime, and drug trafficking. He emphasized the importance of law enforcement professionals being well-versed in international assistance coordination. Sessions during the conference focused on extradition, provisional arrest, and leveraging INTERPOL channels for transnational crime investigations.
