Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, announced that India’s textile industry is projected to grow to US$350 billion by 2030, creating 3.5 crore jobs. This statement was made during the Curtain Raiser event of ‘Bharat Tex 2025’ in New Delhi. Shri Singh expressed optimism about India gaining global recognition for its ‘Bharat’ brand and sustainable textile products.

The Union Minister highlighted that the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for textiles will be instrumental in boosting production, promoting branding, and attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). He emphasized that India's demographic advantage will propel the country's growth ahead of competitors like China. Shri Singh also urged state governments to actively participate in the event, reflecting the 'Make in India' spirit and the 5F vision: "Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign."

Bharat Tex 2025, a global textiles event organized by a consortium of Textile Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) with support from the Ministry of Textiles, is scheduled to take place from February 14-17, 2025. The event will be held at two premier venues: Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi and India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida.

The main event at Bharat Mandapam will cover the entire textile value chain, while the India Expo Centre and Mart will host exhibitions on handicrafts, garment machinery, and ethnic apparel from February 12-15, 2025. Bharat Tex 2025 builds on the success of the 2024 edition, focusing on resilient global value chains and textile sustainability.

Event Highlights:

Exhibition Space: Spanning 200,000 square meters, Bharat Tex 2025 will host over 5,000 exhibitors, 6,000 international buyers from more than 110 countries, and attract over 120,000 visitors.

Key Participants: The event will see participation from top policymakers, global CEOs, international exhibitors, and buyers.

Thematic Focus: Exhibitions will feature a wide array of textile products, including apparel, home furnishings, fibers, fabrics, and technical textiles. A retail High Street will highlight India’s fashion retail opportunities.

Interactive Events: The textile extravaganza will include a global trade fair, a textiles conference, seminars, CEO roundtables, B2B and G2G meetings, live demonstrations, cultural events, fashion presentations, and sustainability workshops.

Strategic Announcements: The event is poised for strategic investment announcements, product launches, and collaborations that could reshape the global textile industry.
