Union Minister Giriraj Singh has warned that Bangladesh's control has shifted in such a way that it might become 'the big brother of Pakistan,' deterring investors from entering the country.

Speaking at the curtain raiser for Bharat Tex 2025, set to run from February 14-17 at Bharat Mandapam, Singh's remarks followed recent violence and regime change in Bangladesh. He emphasized that India's textile industry faces no competition from Bangladesh or Vietnam due to its ample labor force.

Singh also shared plans to link every sector to a production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme, aiming to boost economic growth. Bharat Tex 2025, supported by the Ministry of Textiles and organized by a consortium of Export Promotion Councils, will feature over 5,000 exhibitors and 6,000 international buyers, affirming its status as a premier global textile trade fair.
