Tea Vendor Arrested for Alleged Rape at Samastipur Railway Station

A tea vendor at Samastipur railway station in Bihar has been arrested for the alleged rape of a 22-year-old woman, police reported on Tuesday.
The incident took place early Monday morning when the woman arrived alone at the station, having left her home in Madhubani following a family dispute. Recognizing her vulnerability, the tea vendor offered assistance but later allegedly raped her.
Government Railway Police took the accused, a resident of Satanpur village, into custody. Deputy SP (Railway) Roshan Kumar Gupta confirmed that a preliminary investigation revealed the victim had boarded a train to Samastipur and was alone and distressed at the station. A medical examination has been conducted on the victim, and her family has been notified. The case remains under investigation.
