A 51-year-old man was allegedly cheated out of Rs 4 lakh by three individuals in Dombivli, Thane, according to local police. The suspects offered to exchange foreign currency, promising 700 Dinars for Rs 12 lakh.

On August 31, the involved parties met in Dombivli East, where the victim handed over Rs 4 lakh as a part of the deal. The suspects gave him a bag they claimed contained the foreign currency and left the scene immediately.

Upon opening the bag, the victim found blank papers instead of Dinars. Attempts to contact the suspects failed, prompting him to file a police complaint. Authorities have registered a case and are currently investigating, though no arrests have been made.
