The Supreme Court of India has granted bail to Bibhav Kumar, a key aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in connection with an assault case involving Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal.
A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan mandated that while Kumar is out on bail, he will not return to his post as a personal assistant to the Chief Minister, nor will he receive any official assignments in the Chief Minister's office. In addition, Kumar has been barred from entering Kejriwal's residence until all witnesses in the case have been examined.
Commenting on the court's decision, AAP chief national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court, noting that the matter remains sub-judice and refraining from further comment. Kumar was arrested on May 18 following an FIR filed against him under multiple IPC provisions, including charges of criminal intimidation and assault with intent to disrobe.
