Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday underscored the significance of 'smart policing' and 'Mitra Police' (friendly police), advocating for officers to be both tech-savvy and compassionate. Speaking at the passing out parade of 74 DSPs at Moradabad's Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Police Academy, he noted the commendable achievement of having no riots in the state for the past seven years.

Adityanath urged the newly appointed officers to fully embody Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'smart policing,' which combines strict enforcement with sensitivity. He stressed the necessity for police to be modern, mobile, alert, and accountable, with a strong emphasis on using modern forensic techniques to ensure justice and reduce unnecessary expenditures.

Highlighting the state's successful law and order strategies, Adityanath emphasized the government's zero tolerance policy towards crime and criminals. He pointed out the modernization efforts in the police force, including the recruitment of over 1.6 lakh new personnel, and urged the officers to live up to the public's trust and security expectations.
