The theft occurred at the Police Superintendents' Association conference in central England. Johnson highlighted that Britain is facing an "epidemic of anti-social behaviour, theft and shoplifting". Despite the incident, no security threat was identified.
Warwickshire Police arrested a 56-year-old man on suspicion of burglary, but he was released on bail. The nation has seen a 40% rise in thefts, especially of personal items, contributing to waning public trust in law enforcement.
