Modi Pledges Support to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Amid Heavy Rains

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday assured Andhra Pradesh and Telangana chief ministers of all possible support from the Centre to address the crisis following severe rains in their states.
Officials stated that Modi spoke with the two chief ministers — N Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh and A Revanth Reddy of Telangana — over the phone concerning the heavy rains and resultant floods.
He pledged comprehensive assistance from the Centre to overcome this challenge, according to official sources.
In Telangana, nine individuals lost their lives in various rain-related incidents as the state, including Hyderabad, experienced continuous heavy downpour on Sunday.
Reddy convened an emergency review due to relentless rains and discussed relief measures in submerged areas with ministers via phone, an official release noted.
Unprecedented rainfall over the past two days has severely disrupted life in Andhra Pradesh, especially in Vijayawada, leading to the evacuation of 17,000 affected residents across the state.
