Lt General Navin Sachdeva, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Jammu-based White Knight Corps, conducted a comprehensive review of the security situation in the Doda and Kishtwar districts on Saturday. This comes ahead of the upcoming elections in the region set for September 18.
During his visit, Lt Gen Sachdeva also assessed the annual Kailash Kund Yatra, which began from Dudu-Basantgarh in the Udhampur district. The three-day pilgrimage is under tight security, including heightened vigilance and aerial surveillance, to ensure the safety of the pilgrims.
The security review extended to the Suigarh and Patnazi sectors, with Lt Gen Sachdeva and the GOC of the counter-insurgency force Delta lauding the troops for their steadfastness and professional conduct. Enhanced security measures are in place due to recent terror attacks in the area, ensuring a safe pilgrimage and election process.
