In a disturbing incident in Gujarat's Panchmahal district, a man was tied to the bonnet of a car and driven around after being accused of theft by two individuals, authorities reported on Saturday.

The incident occurred on August 29 in Kanku Thambla village when the victim was allegedly caught stealing fertilizer from a shop, as stated by Deputy Superintendent of Police NY Patel.

Videos taken by bystanders and circulated on social media captured the moment, prompting police to register a case against the victim, Surjan Bhavri (30), as well as against the alleged assailants, Ganpatsinh Parmar and Manubhai Charan, under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for wrongful confinement and assault. The police are currently examining the differing claims made by the involved parties.
