A Russian guided bomb attack on Kharkiv's northeastern city targeted a residential building and playground, killing seven and injuring 77, local authorities reported.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy confirmed a 14-year-old girl was among the dead. Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated the 12-storey apartment block caught fire, with the death toll later rising to seven.
Regional governor Oleh Syniehubov reported 20 people in severe condition. Many of the upper floors were in flames, and several cars were destroyed. Efforts continued to rescue survivors.
