J&K Government Appoints New Senior Police Officers in Key Districts
The Jammu and Kashmir government announced the appointment of four new Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) for Srinagar, Baramulla, Kupwara, and a Superintendent of Police (SP) for Handwara. The Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed four new Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) in key districts, including Srinagar, Baramulla, and Kupwara, as well as a Superintendent of Police (SP) for Handwara. The decision, made on Friday night, received approval from the Election Commission of India.
According to an order issued by Principal Secretary Home, Chandrakar Bharti, seven police officials have been transferred and assigned new roles. This includes the reassignment of two IPS officers to new positions in the police telecommunications and CID headquarters.
The Election Commission's directive aims to maintain a fair and impartial electoral process ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The officials named in the new appointments include Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, Mohammad Zaid, Ghulam Jeelani Wani, and Ifroz Ahmad.
