The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted a third supplementary chargesheet related to the alleged leakage of question papers for the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission's (APPSC) assistant engineer (civil) examination.
This marks the conclusion of the CBI's investigation into the matter, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the federal agency. The latest chargesheet includes the name of an aspirant's mother, who reportedly issued a Rs 5 lakh cheque to a middleman to obtain the leaked exam questions for her son.
Previously, the said middleman and the candidate were charged in the initial chargesheet filed on December 8, 2022. The CBI had earlier accused a deputy controller of examinations at APPSC, in collaboration with others, of leaking the 2022 exam paper in exchange for large sums of money.
The case, registered by the CBI on October 26, 2022, had initially been kept open for further investigation into additional aspects of the incident.
