Two men have been charged with abetment of suicide after two Dalit girls, aged 15 and 18, were found hanging in an orchard, according to police reports on Friday.

Authorities discovered the bodies on Tuesday, with the men being charged under section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita following complaints from the girls' families, Superintendent of Police Alok Priyadarshi stated. The suspects have been arrested and are currently under interrogation.

The families alleged the men, who lived in the same village, harassed the girls. Evidence includes a SIM card given by one of the accused, found near the bodies. Investigations continue, with a post-mortem confirming suicide and no signs of physical harm.
