Thane Police File FIR Against Five Relatives for Assaulting Pregnant Woman

Police in Maharashtra's Thane district have registered an FIR against five relatives, including the husband, of a pregnant woman for assaulting her, an official said on Thursday.
The complainant, who is a nurse, was attacked on August 14 after confronting her husband over his interactions with other women, the official elaborated. Her husband, Miraj Mohammad Ali Momin, allegedly kicked her in the stomach and face, with her mother-in-law and sisters-in-law also participating in the assault.
After receiving treatment at Thane Civil Hospital, the woman filed a complaint at Nizampura police station in Bhiwandi. The five accused have been booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 91, 115(2), 352, and 351(2). Police are awaiting medical reports to determine the status of the woman's pregnancy, the official added.
