The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has urged the Karnataka High Court to consider an in-camera hearing for bail and anticipatory bail applications of former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna. The politician faces serious accusations of rape and sexual assault involving multiple women.

Special Public Prosecutor Ravivarma Kumar, representing the SIT, made the plea to protect the identity of the victims during the court proceedings. Justice M Nagaprasanna noted that the Chief Justice would need to make a decision regarding the request, and Prajwal's legal team sought additional time.

The hearing has been adjourned to September 5, where the court underscored the gravity of the case. Meanwhile, Prajwal, who has been in judicial custody since May 31 after returning from Germany, faces charges along with his father, MLA H D Revanna. The SIT has filed a comprehensive charge sheet that includes statements from 150 witnesses, focusing on the alleged sexual assault of a domestic help.
