On Wednesday, the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) postponed the prosecution's motion to classify a teenage driver involved in the deadly Kalyaninagar Porsche crash as an adult offender until September 16.

The JJB also deferred hearing two defense applications seeking the release of an impounded Porsche and the minor's passport. A police officer stated, ''We have sought adjournment as we have to file our say on the defense's applications to release their properties.''

The defense has already countered the prosecution's plea, arguing that the minor cannot be treated as an adult due to the nature of the crime, which they claim is not ''heinous.''

The juvenile, allegedly driving the Porsche in an inebriated state, fatally struck two IT professionals, including a young woman, on May 19. The minor was initially brought before the JJB, who granted bail with conditions, including writing a traffic norms essay, but this decision was later overturned by the Pune police. Now released following a high court order, the teen has met all bail conditions thus far.
