Tragic Incident of Self-Immolation Following Alleged Gang Rape in Bhojipura

A 13-year-old girl from Bhojipura, Uttar Pradesh, died by self-immolation a day after allegedly being gang-raped by two men, Ankit and Pankaj, in a sugarcane field. After the assault, the suspects fled. Although rushed to the hospital, the girl could not be saved. An investigation is underway.

A tragic incident has come to light in Bhojipura, Uttar Pradesh, where a 13-year-old girl died by self-immolation following an alleged gang rape. According to police sources, the incident took place on Monday when the girl was drying clothes in a sugarcane field.

In the FIR lodged by the victim's father, it is stated that two men, identified as Ankit and Pankaj, allegedly caught and gang-raped the girl. The accused reportedly fled the scene when the girl's sister arrived after hearing her screams.

The father also informed the police that his daughter set herself on fire the following day. Though she was rushed to a hospital, medical personnel were unable to save her. Police have arrested one suspect while the search for the second continues. A postmortem is underway and a detailed investigation has begun.
