A 22-year-old mother of two was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner in UP's Bareilly district following an argument over a delay in their marriage, officials said on Wednesday.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (City) Rahul Bhati, the victim, Aasia, initially married to Nafees, developed a relationship with Parvez. Approximately three months ago, Aasia left Nafees and began living with Parvez despite opposition from Parvez's mother.

On Tuesday, Aasia's family was informed that her health had deteriorated. Upon arriving at Parvez's residence, they found her body hanging from a noose. Parvez claimed he had returned from an event to find her dead. The police have detained Parvez and sent Aasia's body for post-mortem examination as the investigation continues.
