Mumbai Police arrested Manohar Bhoi, a 35-year-old waiter hailing from Rajasthan, on charges of carrying a country-made pistol and two live cartridges. The arrest took place in Kurla, Mumbai, on Tuesday night following a tip-off, an official reported on Wednesday.
Bhoi allegedly traveled to Mumbai with the intent to deliver the firearm. His detention follows police efforts to curb illegal arms trafficking in the city. The official disclosed that Bhoi works as a waiter in a Rajasthan hotel and is currently undergoing questioning to reveal his contacts in Mumbai.
A case has been registered against Bhoi under the Arms Act. Police are intensifying their investigation to track down illegal arms networks operating in the region.
